Corpuz Adds Expertise and Experience to Fast-Growing Solar Developer

Toronto and New York Oct. 4, 2019–OYA Solar, a North American full-service solar developer, announced the hiring of Bernadette Corpuz as General Counsel. Corpuz joins OYA’s executive leadership team as it scales the growth and development of its renewable energy pipeline throughout North America. Corpuz is a seasoned business lawyer with roughly 20 years of experience in the power sector, with particular focus on renewables, gained in the prominent electricity markets groups of national firms Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and Gowling WLG. She has acted in over 1000 MW of renewable power transactions and has advised clients in all aspects of power projects, including power purchase and development agreements, government renewable procurements, mergers and acquisitions, financings and joint ventures.

Before joining OYA, Corpuz practiced in the Business Law, Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Groups of Torkin Manes LLP. Bernadette was recently recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada 2020 for Energy Law. Bernadette holds LLB/JD degrees from the Universities of Windsor and Detroit Mercy, and an MBA from McMaster University.
