Ransomville Solar Project Receives Approval To Move Forward

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ransomville, NY, May 29, 2019: Today, OYA Solar announced that a community solar project on Moore Road in Ransomville, New York has received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) towards construction. The 7.5 megawatt (MW) Moore Road Solar Farm will produce approximately 11 gigawatt hours annually when complete – enough clean solar energy to power more than 900 homes. The new solar farm will help reduce nearly 15 million pounds of carbon pollution, the equivalent of not burning 7,334,034 pounds of coal or protecting 7,906 acres of American forests for a year. Construction is expected to begin this summer and the project is expected to be complete in December. OYA Solar, a full service North American solar company, is the project developer.

“We’re excited to be investing in Ransomville with the Moore Road Solar Farm. Solar is going to power local growth and New York’s economy in the 21st Century and Niagara County is well-positioned to take advantage of that growth. We look forward to seeing this project through and delivering clean energy for New York,” said Manish Nayar, CEO of OYA Solar.

OYA Solar and the local landowner signed a lease for the solar garden to utilize an undeveloped portion of land and in return, the local landowner will earn reliable income for 25 years. OYA Solar works with farmers and landowners in Niagara County to help them receive stable and consistent revenue with solar power. The company puts landowners first because the OYA team understands that it’s important for landowners to understand the nuances, details, and timing of the road ahead.
